I’m back with another quick tip!
Last week I took 15 minutes (and then another 15 minutes) to organize my bedroom closet. I took some time to remove a few unwanted items, so I want to be careful when considering the items I choose to add to my wardrobe. That leads me to today’s tip.
Today’s quick tip: Keep a running list of clothing items you need.
Sometimes we enter a store and end up doing a lot of mindless browsing and shopping. Yes, I know that can be fun! If you’re trying to streamline your wardrobe, though, and if you’re looking to save money and simplify things, keeping a list and referring to it is a simple solution!
Keep a list for you and one for your children. Update the list as you notice items that are needed. Grab that list and refer to it the next time you shop!
What about you? How do you keeping your shopping focused and budget-friendly? I would love to hear from you, so please drop me a comment below!

Until next time,

That is a great tip. I know my kids grow out of clothes so quickly, and then I forget what they need. I think I will make a little section on my dry erase board 🙂
Hi, Melissa! Using the dry erase board is a great idea!
Such a great quick tip! I have a list sometimes in my head, but need to keep an actual running list 😉
Hi, Tabitha! If I rely on my memory, I’m in trouble. 😉
This is such a simple thing, but such a great tip! I never remember what I actually need once I am in the stores!
I agree, Vicki, my brain starts to get all foggy when shopping….I need that list!!
This is such a good idea. I need to do it for my kids! I was shopping today and I had a hard time remembering who needed what!
I cannot rely on my memory, Dara 🙂
Yes! I find myself having this dilemma all the time. Great tip!
Thanks, Jessica 🙂
Great way to stay on track with your spending.

Thanks, Cristy!
This really is so helpful. I’m always in need of more basics, yet when I go shopping I keep buying impractical things that I rarely wear. I’m going to start using your list system!
I definitely find that I get easily distracted while in the store, so the list combats that! Hope it works for you, Lauren!
I don’t know why I’ve never thought of doing this but it would be so helpful – for me and my pocketbook 🙂
